Ambassadors
In my newsletter this week, I would like to ask are you a person who likes to share information. Are you among those who get excited about telling details of the news that is not previously known by others? There are all types of news that people like to share, some areas may include information such as : current events, local news, or even family news. But what about sharing the Good News? Did you know that people who share the Good news can be identified as ambassadors? According to Wikipedia, an ambassador is the highest-ranking diplomat who represents a nation. This diplomat is usually stationed in a foreign country to advance the agendas of his home government. An ambassador is not a citizen of the country where he lives. His sole purpose in living there is to represent his home nation and advance its interests in the host country. In Scripture that is exactly what the Apostle Paul calls people who share the Good News - ambassadors. The definition is spot on, our earthly home was never intended to be our permanent home, but rather a temporary residence. Though we may be here on earth for a good while, our citizenship was originally in heaven. As you will see, there was a plan for us from the very beginning. Does this change our perspective by knowing this and make us even more intentional when sharing random news? Does the desire to share news place the Good News as your number one priority? We have been given a responsibility and a voice that can make a difference. Therefore, we have a choice to be productive and be like the description of an ambassador above and make it our mission to advance the agenda of the kingdom? With this said, the next time we are excited to share a story, just remember there is always an even bigger story to tell; one that gives hope, and it’s the best news ever! “
Hope you and your family have a very happy Easter!
Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.”
