Healthy Relationships?
In my newsletter today, I would like to ask you a question - would you say that you have healthy relationships? Would you say that your friends, family and co-workers are people who build you up and challenge you? Do these people actually care enough about you that they recognize your true feelings when you are happy, struggling, hurt or in a crisis? Do they celebrate your accomplishments without being jealous; push you to grow? How about - do they honor your boundaries? All these questions if answered honestly should help you determine whether you are benefiting from these relationships or not. When you walk with those who are wise, you will see that these are people who want the best for you. They want to see you thrive, and be the best person you can possibly be. They generally care about your well being and will encourage you along the way. However, if you answered no and say they do not do these things for you, maybe it’s time to pray about these relationships. If the people you are thinking about lead you to things that are unhealthy, and lead you to become the opposite of who God intends you to be, then you may want to change your inner circle and surround yourself with those who uplift you and help you be more righteous. So will you follow after Jesus and seek His counsel to lead you to those who are wise? His grace is enough and if you trust Him, you will see the best is yet to come!
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
